Haunted houses, old-time Halloween celebrations and illuminated jack o’lantern displays are just some of the fun attractions that can be found in Nassau -- The Island of Possibilities -- this month.
Old Bethpage Village Restoration
You can celebrate Halloween the way it was done more than a century ago at Old Bethpage Village Restoration’s 1880 Long Island Halloween. Delight to ghost stories, magic lantern shows and jack-o-lantern carving. You can tour haunted buildings and meet the local gravedigger!

Bayville Fire Company presents Long Island's scariest haunted firehouse. Come see what the bloodthirsty firefighters and local ghouls have in store for you. It’s been a Bayville tradition that’s now in its 19th year and benefits the Bayville Fire Department. Beware to folks under 13.

Haunted Mansion at CW Post
Many of us know how scary college can be. The CW Post Campus of Long Island University in Brookville is extra scary this time of year with its Music Department's 12th Annual Haunted Mansion featuring “Mother Goose's House of Horror." Want something less scary for ages 3-8 years? There’s a children's room with face painting, story telling, games, and treats.
